Are there special requirements for SCUBA diving insurance?
In under to have coverage for SCUBA diving under an Arch RoamRight policy, the dive must involve an underwater breathing apparatus or the diver must be PADI or NAUI certified.
If you are not PADI and NAUI certified and plan on SCUBA diving on your trip, you will not have coverage under any Arch RoamRight plan.
Can you use standard travel insurance?
The type of travel insurance you need to have coverage for your SCUBA dive depends on the details of your dive and your certification.
SCUBA diving is covered under standard Arch RoamRight travel insurance plans if the dive involves an underwater breathing apparatus – or if you are PADI or NAUI certified – and the dive is above 130 feet.
If your dives involves an underwater breathing apparatus or if you are PADI or NAUI certified, but you are, diving beyond 130 feet, you will have to purchase a Hazardous Sports Upgrade. This upgrade is available with the Elite, Pro, and Pro Plus plans.
