Legacy Commissions – What Are They And How Do They Work?

Legacy commissions allow travel agents to earn more money

When you become a RoamRight partner, you’ll earn a commission or affiliate fee on every travel insurance sale that comes through you. But did you know you can also earn commissions on future sales?

If you encourage your travelers to set up an account with RoamRight, and they buy directly through that account in the future, you’ll get the commission. It’s our way of saying “Thank you” for introducing your clients to us.

Suppose you have a traveler who is booking a dream vacation through you, but they also take smaller, yearly vacations that they book on their own. If they discover RoamRight because of the vacation booked through you, but then continue to use us to protect their smaller trips, you’ll keep earning income. Even better? It’s at the same commission rate as the original sale. What a win!

How does it work?

For you to earn legacy (or residual) commission, your travelers need to create accounts with RoamRight. Each account will then be linked to your organization, and you’ll earn the commission on any future sales that come in through that user’s account.

Many RoamRight customers are repeat buyers. Once a person finds a travel insurance company they are comfortable with, they tend to stick with it. So you could make a one-time travel insurance sale as you book a vacation package, and still earn commission on future sales for years.

Your travelers need a RoamRight account

The key is to encourage your travelers to set up a RoamRight account. There are many benefits of having a personal RoamRight account. With an account, your travelers will be able to file and track a claim online. They can also unlock all of the rich features in our RoamRight mobile app, and even receive safety and security alerts pushed to their phone or mobile device.
