Tell us a little about your travel agency.

At SoulAtSea.com we take great pride in being Entertainment Cruise Experts, Theme and Group Cruise Specialists. There’s a cruise for most all music genres and various themes. I take great pleasure in sharing my knowledge of entertainment cruises with anyone who calls because it’s my passion; actually, it combines two passions: Music and Cruising!

Do you always offer your clients travel insurance?

Absolutely! The cruises I sell are full ship private charters and they are all totally non-refundable, from the very first deposit payment on. Considering they are rather costly cruises, comparatively speaking, and the vast majority of guests are on a payment plan over 10 to 12 months. I believe everyone should be offered an opportunity to protect their financial investment.

Have you ever had a client who did NOT buy travel insurance and then wished they had?

Sorry to say, yes. Coincidentally, of those who had to cancel and did not buy insurance, they canceled within the week prior to the cruise date and it was always due to someone else. A father or mother died, a brother had a stroke, a son’s dormant illness suddenly raging, etc.

Can you share a time where you or one of your clients benefited from having travel insurance?

An elderly couple in their 70s booked and paid for their cruise as soon as it was announced, unlike most cruisers who take a full year of monthly payments. They also booked their hotel, purchased airfare, as well as transfers. They planned and shopped and dreamed of the great time they would have on their first Soul Train Cruise. During a routine annual exam, cancer was discovered and it was at the stage where the doctor advised against going on the cruise and, instead, starting treatment right away.

I was impressed with the manner in which the RoamRight rep handled their claim and spoke with them in a respectful and helpful manner.

It was my first client needing to file a claim since I started offering RoamRight and, as such, I followed the process every step of the way, from canceling, filling out forms, submitting doctor’s statement, to final check reimbursement. They received a full refund … every penny back. Though sad they could not attend that special cruise, they plan on attending in a future year. Why did you choose RoamRight as your travel insurance provider?

First I joined a webinar that actually made insurance an enjoyable subject. Following the webinar, I did a little homework and was impressed with the coverage provided. Plus, checking further, I found the rates were a little less than [a competitor], almost every time. Plus, they allowed me my own partner portal with my logo at top and provided marketing assets custom made with my logo. I also like the rep I was communicating with named Scott. He did everything just right, made sure my partner portal logo was as I wanted it, paid full attention whenever I needed assistance, responds / replies to email very quickly. It is such a treat to receive old school customer service.

What do you love most about RoamRight?

Next would be the way they work with me, followed by generously providing as many marketing assets as requested; also personalizing assets – it may not seem like a very big deal, but it meant a lot when asked if I wanted to put my logo on the printed material.

What advice do you have for other travel agents looking to earn extra through travel insurance?

Just do it! Offer every single traveler the opportunity to purchase travel insurance for their own protection and, actually, for your own protection as well.
