Meals in London Under $25

London might be one of Europe’s most expensive cities -- but that doesn’t mean you need to go broke while feeding yourself! There are plenty of bargains to be had -- and for £15, or $25, you can find yourself a good meal.

Korean Food in Soho

Soho is home to every cuisine you can imagine -- Vietnamese, Lebanese, Japanese, and more. One great place is Bibimbap in Soho, where you can get a variety of bibimbap dishes for under £10.

Bibimbaps are great because they have a little bit of everything: rice, vegetables, meat, and sometimes an egg on top. For the quintessential Korean meat dish, try the beef bulgogi bibimbap.

Curries in Brick Lane

With the pervasiveness of curry on British menus, it might as well be the national food! For the best curries, head to Brick Lane in the East End. At Aladin in Brick Lane, you can find a variety of chicken, lamb, and vegetarian curries for under £10 ($15).

Chicken tikka masala may be the most popular curry dish -- but if you’re going all the way to Brick Lane, you’ll find adventurous curries of all intensities. If you want spicy, go for the vindaloo -- just be sure to pick up a lassi as well!

Vietnamese Pho in Central London

A giant bowl of pho -- a steaming, spicy soup that is Vietnam’s most famous export -- is the perfect dish on a gray, gloomy day. While London serves up lots of gray days, the Pho chain has several locations in central London.

There are several varieties of Vietnam’s most famous dish here -- beef, chicken, seafood, and vegetarian. Try the bun bo Hue for a special spicy soup from the imperial city of Hue.

Most of the soups are under £10, leaving you room in your budget to have one of their fresh-squeezed juices as well.

You can eat in London for less than $25 a meal. Check out these ideas from RoamRight.

Sandwiches at Borough Market

Any serious foodie visiting London needs to pay a visit to Borough Market, filled with exotic food products from all over Britain. While the free samples alone could fill you up, supplement your excursion with one of the best sandwiches in the city.

Across from Monmouth Coffee is a vendor selling sandwiches with chorizo, roasted red peppers, and rocket (arugula) from just £3.75. You can get a single or double up on the fillings. My advice? Get the double. Pair your sandwich with an excellent cup of coffee from across the street.

Another place that deserves note is the duck confit sandwich vendor, just by the market’s main entrance. A sandwich filled with duck confit will cost you £5 on its own or £8 with a cup of hot mulled wine.

Pub Fare, Anywhere

No matter where you go in London, pubs abound -- and in nearly all of them, you can get a pint and a pie for under £15.

One nice pub is The Defectors Weld in Shepherd’s Bush, where you can get a pint and one of the several daily pies with gravy, mash and peas for £9.25. They also have a great, shareable meat board for £14 and a vegetarian board for £12.

Forget all the stereotypes you’ve heard about British food -- it’s largely overblown, and these dishes are delicious!
