If you’re a fan of Star Wars, you may want to buy a plane ticket to London in July. If you haven’t heard of the Star Wars Celebration, the annual event celebrates all things Star Wars.
The Star Wars Celebration takes place July 15-July 17 and has been described as a love letter from Lucasfilm to its fans. Three days filled with costumes, exhibits, an interactive show floor, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, autograph tables, panels, screenings and more. Fans of all ages come from around the globe to share their love of Star Wars.
Special guests include cast and crew from the Star Wars saga, artists and writers, pop culture personalities and more. Stage hosts include Warwick Davis, Wicket W. Warrick; David Collins, Stormtroopers and various voices in Star Wars: The Force Awakens; and Amy Ratcliffe, Reporter and Writer. Spotlight guests include Gareth Edwards, Director of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; Carrie Fisher, Star Wars Saga; Mark Hamill, Star Wars Saga; and Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm President.
Currently, the Star Wars Celebration’s Cosplay Contest is scheduled for Friday, July 15. To be a contestant, you must appear in costume throughout both the morning and afternoon, and your costume must represent a character or element in Star Wars. If you have stage fright, you’ll get to conquer that fear as you will go on stage individually, exhibiting two or three poses.

The 2016 Star Wars Celebration Europe edition will be held at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre. For 2017, the celebration will head back stateside to Orlando April 13-16.
General tickets are still available for individual days – Friday and Sunday on the Star Wars Celebration website. Note that prices don’t include European VAT. No worries about purchasing from abroad either as all tickets are picked up at the ticket counters rather than mailed to purchasers.
