Exploring The Beauty of Machu Picchu in 9 Photos

A few months ago I had the remarkable opportunity to tick an important item off of my bucket list -  seeing the impressive wonder Machu Picchu in person. The journey from Lima to Cusco through the Sacred Valley and finally to the mountain city itself was one that I know I'll never forget, but there were some surprises along the way. Most notably was how different Machu Picchu is in person versus from all the photos I'd seen over the years. Just like most people, for decades I had grown accustomed to seeing one view of Machu Picchu. THE photo. I know you've seen it too and while it is beautiful, I discovered that there's a lot more to Machu Picchu than just one impressive viewing spot. To share what the experience of visiting this UNESCO World Heritage protected site is really like, I thought I'd share a few photos (including THE photo) that I think demonstrate the beauty of Machu Picchu in its entirety and not just from one angle.
