Amazing Scuba Dives Around the World

Sea turtles are reptiles of the order of Testudines

Scuba diving is an adventure like no other. It's almost magical, drawing you into a remarkable and wondrous world full of vibrant colored coral, strangely beautiful creatures, and fun adventures. Scuba diving fanatics travel the world in search of the best places to plunge into the underwater realm.

There are thousands of dive sites all around the globe and many of them offer something special and distinctive however, there are several factors to consider when crowning a dive as one of the most amazing scuba dives on the planet. This includes location, clarity of the water, and diversity of fish and coral.

The following dives stand out among the rest and will leave you breathless. So let's dive in and discover some of the best scuba diving locations around the globe.

Barracuda Point, Malaysia

Barracuda Point, just five minutes from the island of Sipadan in Malaysia, is one of the most adventurous dives in the world. As you sink below the depths, swarms of barracudas, rays, and even hammerhead sharks swim past as if to greet you on your descent.

Everything seems bigger at Barracuda point. Sea turtles are as large as three meters long and manta rays can reach up to seven. Spectacular swarms of thousands of fish dive in sync throughout your journey.

Diving in Barracuda Point will overload your senses with striking colors, artistic designs, and breathtaking scenes.

Great Blue Hole, Belize

Scuba diving in a blue hole is an unforgettable experience, especially if it's the 300 meter wide blue hole in Belize. This unique underwater community offers scuba divers a lot of variety. Known as the Great Hole in the Floor, it promises to thrill you beyond all expectations.

Descending into the deep abyss, you have a front row view of enormous octopus, tunas, and groupers. At 25 meters below the surface, divers are free to explore gigantic caverns and caves that are home to some of the most incredible stalactites and stalagmites found anywhere. This is the perfect dive for advanced divers.

Silfra, Iceland

Imagine swimming through an underwater canyon where you can reach out and touch the continent of North America with one hand and Europe with the other. Silfra, Thingvellir in Iceland is the only place in the entire world where one can have this rare experience. Silfra is not a dive for those looking for beautiful fish or a thrilling cave swim. Instead, it is an exhilarating dive between two vast continents. As you would expect, the water in Iceland is cold, but it is a small price to pay to hover between two massive plates that join the earth.

Manta Ray Night Dive, Hawaii

This unique moonlight dive in Hawaii is spectacular even if it is partly man-made. This is simply because of the placing of lights on the ocean floor that provides divers with a better view. These lights attract plankton, the number one draw for huge scores of manta rays that congregate around the area to feed.

The presentation is dramatic and even the sideshow, a colorful pulsating light exhibit preformed by invertebrates as they float gracefully in the water, is worth a standing ovation.

Richelieu Rock, Thailand

Every diver longs for the day to spot the most sought after underwater creature, a whale shark. These intimidating yet gentle giants of the ocean grow to over 40 feet long and weigh around 66,000 pounds. Despite how large they are, it is still quite rare to spot one. Many divers spend years in anticipation hoping to catch just a glimpse. Diving Richelieu Rock in Thailand increases the odds dramatically. This dive spot has been called the Whale Shark Magnet and thus is a favorite location among divers. Even if you don't get to see a whale shark, there are scores of beautifully colored fish that will fascinate you.

Whether you are a novice diver or skilled, many memorable and remarkable experiences await you. New, exciting, and unexplored worlds are beckoning, so stretch your imagination, soar the depths, and encounter life on a whole new level.
