Favorite Shopping Vacations Around The Country

America takes shopping to a new level compared to many other countries around the world. On my travels, I have heard many people say that a major highlight when visiting America is the variety and choices we have when shopping.

Yes, America is home to city streets designed to entice us, numerous brands that give us endless choices, and mega malls that take days to wander.

It goes without saying that the major cities in America like Chicago and LA are great shopping destinations.

However, for this list, we will look at many different cities and even highlight some smaller destinations that not only offer unforgettable shopping but also fantastic getaways.

New York City

Ah yes, it should be no surprise that New York City makes the top of the list for the best shopping holidays in America.  As one of the major fashion capitals of the world, it only makes sense that New York is a paradise for shoppers.

There are many shopping malls and streets to visit in New York. However, there are a few that no respectable shopper would miss when visiting the city. The first is the luxury boutiques of the famed Fifth Avenue. The street is lined with expensive shops like Prada, Tiffany’s & Co, and Gucci. However, there are more reasonable options such as H&M and Banana Republic to choose from as well.

Next head to the longest street in Manhattan, Broadway. This street is lined with a variety of different types of local and chain stores that will make any hardcore shopper go wild. Broadway also has the added bonus of being famous for its theaters. Take a break from shopping and catch a show, which will allow you to cross Broadway off your sightseeing list while indulging in your favorite pastime.

Mall of America

Let’s head to Bloomington, Minnesota and an explosive shopping trip to the Mall of America. You could easily spend a weekend or more in this mega mall and still not see everything.

This mall has over 500 stores, which include favorites such as Burberry, American Girl, and the Lego Emporium. However. Mall of America takes traditional shopping malls to the next level.

The mall is more than just stores, hotels and restaurants. It also has an aquarium, roller coaster, Nickelodeon Universe, and mini golf. Mall of America is not just a mall, it is an entire experience.

Santa Fe

It might come as a shock that Santa Fe is such a pleasant shopping destination in America. What makes this city so great for shopping is that it a combination of chain retailers and local artisans. As you wander through the historic buildings you can browse the local wares that included everything from handcrafted furniture to cowboy boots.

A few local shops you should not miss when visiting Santa Fe are the Ark Book Store, voted the best bookstore in the city, The River Trading Post which sells Native American Art Work, and C.G. Higgins Confections which sells all sorts of homemade sweets and treats.

Santa Fe has the shopping of a major city but with a small town atmosphere. This makes it an exceptional shopping destination in America.

Charleston

It only makes sense that one of the top-rated cities in America has a booming shopping scene. Like Santa Fe, Charleston is a great mix of big retailers and local shops.

The most significant shopping streets in Charleston are St. George Street and King Street. St. George Street is buzzing with activity and you could easily spend a couple of days exploring the stores and not get bored. King Street is beautiful and wandering the 18th and 19th-century buildings is a fantastic shopping experience where you can find everything from the Apple Store to consignment shops and local art.

Of course, don’t forget to stop by the famed Charleston Market. Charleston is an incredibly picturesque city that promises an amazing shopping experience but also a wonderful holiday.

Newport Beach

If you are looking for some of the best shopping in America combined with a beach holiday, then look no further than Newport Beach. Located on the beautiful coast of California, there are plenty of shopping malls, ocean side shops, and restaurants.

All this together makes it one of the best shopping holidays in America, and what better way to recover from constant shopping than by sipping a cocktail on a beach.

America is full of great shopping holidays. These destinations mix the best shopping in the country with incredible vacation spots. The next time you are planning a trip, use this list to guide you through the best shopping vacations in America.
