As you lay back and close your eyes, you can hear the waves break against the shore. Their rhythm quietly sends you into the most relaxing coma. Ahhhh, this is the life. A knock at the door interrupts your thoughts but you simply smile, knowing that soon, very soon, this daydream will be a reality. It is just a matter of choosing the perfect place and a few minor details.

Fortunately, there are no shortages of American beaches, but picking the perfect one for your well-earned vacation can leave you scratching your head in bewilderment. Cannon Beach, Oregon

Cannon Beach's famous landmark, the Haystone Rock, rises an astounding 235 feet out of the ocean. Just seeing this protected marine sanctuary is worth the visit to Cannon Beach alone, but there is much more here than many people realize.

Not only are there four national parks to explore, but this small part of Oregon has also been rated as one of the top art cities in America, making it a wonderful place to be surrounded by beauty, whether you are indoors or out.
